Why Onjiko High School

Strong Academic Performance

Onjiko High has built a reputation for academic excellence, producing high-achieving students who consistently perform well in the KCSE (Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education) exams.

Well-Rounded Student Development

The school emphasizes holistic education — combining academics with extracurricular activities like sports, drama, science fairs, and leadership training, helping students grow in all areas.

Impressive Sports Achievements

Onjiko’s basketball team, for instance, is nationally recognized and even won a bronze medal at the 2023 East African 3x3 Basketball Championships in Rwanda — a big win for the school.

Dedicated Staff

With a student-teacher ratio of about 26:1 and a team of qualified, passionate educators, Onjiko ensures students get the guidance they need for academic success.

Leadership & Mentorship Culture

Student leadership is nurtured through an active Student Governing Council and mentorship programs, creating a culture of responsibility and initiative among learners.

Christian Values & Moral Training

Rooted in strong Christian values, the school fosters not just academic growth but also spiritual and moral grounding — something many parents highly value.

My first assignment was to build trust with students by introducing an interactive session (Principal's Talk) with students where they air their grievance and suggest solutions. The objective is to debunk stereotypes and foster dialogue between the administration and students. Our engagements addressed such issues such as academic, social and even personal cases.
