Ms. Jacklin Mbugua HOD

The Technical and Applied department offers the following subjects; Business Studies, Computer Studies and Agriculture. The subjects are taught by the following teachers: Computer Studies – Patrick Kip’ngeno Kirui (HOD). Business Studies – Mr. Jared Abwao, Maurice Ong’eng, Mr, Henry Ngara, Mr. Daniel Otieno, Mr. Bildad Juma and Mr. Haron Masole. Agriculture – Md Jacqueline Mbugua (HOD), Frederick Obura, Mr. Edwin Omurwa and Mr. Jacob Omondi.

The department has been performing well especially in Computer Studies, Agriculture and Business Studies in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams. In agriculture, the school supports school farms where cows and fish pond are maintained. Produce from the school farm and fish pond is used for local consumption.

Computer studies provide efficient and effective services to the school. One main area the subject focuses on is the offering of computer studies/lessons to the students from form 1 to form 4. The computer laboratory is equipped with 22 desktops and 10 laptops. We hope and pray that our hard work shall be reflected in good performance in all the subjects at the end of the year.

As a country, technical subjects are the core subjects to be relied on if the country is to achieve the Kenya Vision 2030. This can be achieved through value addition of a country’s natural resources through skilled technical personnel. As a department, we recognize that we are imparting basic occupational skills to students who are an integral part of national development at this stage in their lives.
